My Past Works
Autumn 2019
In September, I spent a week at St Ives School of Painting improving my portraiture with Ashley Holt and learning outdoor sketching and dynamic seascapes from Gary Long. It was great to spend a dedicated week in such an iconic location in the company of other budding artists.

Lockdown 2020-21

During Lockdown confinement, we all discovered the wonder of Zoom and the joy of watching artists at work in the form of on-line workshops. I tried out a series of Catherine Beale's lush runny, watercolour sessions and also some of Jake Winkle's characterful creatures and watery landscapes and enjoyed them all.

Since then...
I have attended several workshops at the wonderful East Devon Art Academy in Sidmouth where I was introduced to the flat brush acrylic style and vibrant colours of Hashim Akib. After that I was hooked on abstract landscpes.

I also went painting abroad: in Morocco with David Wilsher for afantastic acrlic break, in Turkey with Catherine Beale to enhance my watercolour techniques and in Crete with Roger Dellar for an introduction to Pleain Air Oil Painting.

In late April, I will be joining Jenny Aitken whom I much admire for her workshop in the Wye Valley.

At home, I keep up my lifedrawing skills with the help of the ever enthusiatic Wendy at TOSH in Boscombe.
